Bar service is fast and you can make it pay for itself if you knock a few back :)ĭon't miss the Bellagio Fountains, they're amazing and free.įreemont Street at night is brilliant fun and if you go there, take a slice of pizza at Pizza Rock-it's out of this world. Take the Happy Hour rotation if you like a drink. Avoid shops at the Cosmopolitain as they are all high end. Venetian Casino canals, shops and food court are great as are the Forum shops at Caesars Palace. Slotzilla zipline on Freemont St is awesome fun. Helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon with Papillon Tours was superb although a bit on the pricey side. Due to the severe heat, dress appropriately, venture into the different casinos when you need a break from the sun and use caution while on the sidewalk. If this is your first visit to “Sin City,” suggest driving the route first, and then park and utilize the foot mobile to take a closer look at specific areas of interest. The entire drive up and down “The Strip” took approximately an hour. Everywhere you look, you will find something different.
Traffic is a nightmare on the amazing street. If you want to buy the Hoover Dam or the White House, you are in luck. Every block seems to have a Con artist who will attempt to sell you everything under the sun. Numerous showgirls in all stages of clothing from evening gowns to almost bare will attempt to entice you to take a photo with them. Observed several Donald Trumps, (one with pink hair), a half dozen Elvis, Elvira, and a mob of weirdo characters ranging from Homer J. Pedestrian traffic on both sides of the Boulevard range from weird to “Holy Molly.” One sees celebrities, the bedazzled tourist, and a never-ending parade of homelessness individuals, street performers (dressed up in costumes to look like whoever “is in this week”). Contributing to the wow factor, is the amazing colorful lights from the different properties. The Statue of Liberty at the New York – New York Casino and the 540-foot-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas are unbelievable. The Luxor with its pyramid shaped building, Bellagio with dancing water fountains, and the giant 100-foot-tall Coca Cola Bottle and Giant bag of M&Ms in front of the Showcase Mall are impressive. If you enjoy looking at fanciful buildings with amazing architecture, you are in for a treat. Many of the largest hotel, casino, and resort properties in the world can be found on the Strip. As one cruises up or down Las Vegas Boulevard, you will observe a plethora of hotels, casinos, and a variety of other amazing sites. The Las Vegas strip is a 4.2-mile-long world renown boulevard located south of Las Vegas city limits. As a tourist had to do “The Strip” drive by. On day 10 of our epic road trip expedition, we finally landed up in Las Vegas, Nevada.
